Tourist Information
It would be a shame to come to this summerime Bigoud’n Jongle without seeing pastoral ladscapes, especially if you come from a distance ! That’s why we did a survey of some nice places near the site of the convention to visit before the juggling week, during it or after it.
- Rennes
At first you can go for a walk in Rennes, it’s a nice city lively and with a lot of nice little shops, crêperies and bars. Have you ever heard about the famous street called Rue de la soif ? To understand, you must go to Les lices district in the center of Rennes !
If you need to buy food before leaving, remember that a market takes place every saturday morning on Place des Lices in Rennes. It’s the second biggest market of France and one of the most famous !
» Les étangs d’apigné
Near Rennes you can go to Les étangs d’apigné and swim there. Other nautical activities are possible to do (windsurfing etc.). This place is accessible by bus, with the special line called Api’Bus. You can also go by bicycle, monocycle etc. along the Vilaine river. After 30 minutes you will be there.
You can also go for a walk along the Ille et Rance canal. There is a A voie verte (walking way) during 62 km.
- La forêt de Paimpont (ou Brocéliande)
Further, 40 km in the south-west of Rennes, if you like hiking, you can go for a walk in the Paimpont forest and in the countryside around it. The other name of this forest is Brocéliande forest. The Round Table history took place there (without doubt !) with King Arthur and Merlin as main characters.
» La côté, Saint Malo, Dinard…
You can go Saint-Malo and its famous fortification or you can go to Dinard. Enjoy beautiful landscapes !
» Le Mont Saint-Michel
If you are not afraid of tourists, you can try to go to the Mont Saint-Michel. You can also stay away and just watch it. It’s a very nice view.
